my prestige has fallen each of the last 2 seasons from A to B+ now. Rather depressing.

While my prestige is holding steady at A-, I now feel like I have no idea if the players I am signing are good or not... I think I am too confused and picky after just finishing D-I recruiting in Naismith. Oh well.

I signed 3 very nice players before the drop downs hit. I am not sure if they will land in the top 25, but I sure like having that nice prestige rating. The two big guys almost fell in my lap and they weren't even there on the first day of recruiting.
I hope they'll like going 0-4 vs Chicago :)nice cl***, its tough to get a top 25 cl*** w/ just 3 kids (and no jucos or transfers) as the rankings are weighted towards larger cl***es. Not impossible, but much tougher than if you added just 1 mediocre kid for a 4 man cl***.

i am done... seriously doubt i have a ranked cl***, but i really like my C & SF, and the SG is good enough.

i am done too...nothing fancy - just 3 guys who should be good in a few seasons...hopefully my team grows up fast this year...just looking for an NT birth and maybe a win in the NT this season...

you're cl*** looks good to me wronoj!!

i know what you mean - in the opposite direction when i moved to DII it took me a good season or two to get my head on straight judging recruits...

doesn't help we have wooden and naismith so near each other...

I feel pretty good about my 4... Lane, Lolley, Shepard, and Woodward.

I think the hardest part about recruiting in this drop-down era is knowing when to pull the trigger. I could start recruiting right now and sign 3 guys I'd be happy with. There's definitely a temptation to sit around and wait on that perfect player and miss out on some real good ones. That being said, I'm pretty happy with the 3 I signed..

exactly my problem... always wary of signing guys early in the hope that a better guy will come along later. oh well, i am pretty happy with my cl*** too, so guess i should stop complaining.

It seemed to me there were many more sim ai D2 schools recruiting from the d3 pool of players. I actually got into a battle with a couple. Won one, lost one! USC Aiken was a thorn in my side this year. Still, I'm very pleased with my cl*** this year!!

I've always had that issue. I badly want to sit and wait for that absolute stud player. At the same time, I don't want to lose out on the guys I had interest in originally. Happy with what I got though. Could be a little better, but I've done far, FAR worse.

I signed all three guys on the first cycle. I have ALWAYS been one to wait for dropdowns and wait until the last day to even start recruiting. However, with prestige being a big factor now, I took a chance on what was availabe (I needed two big men). WHen I looked at what I signed versus what was available on the last day, I think I was better off signing my guys early. The dropdowns had just too many flaws (no D, no WE, no SP or ATH) for my style.
Also, with prestige being another big issue, either no one saw the guys I was going after or no one wanted to battle me. I had over 10K to spend. I signed all 3 of my guys for less than 3K and now I am sitting on a nice carryover for next year.
I think as other schools prestige begins to climb, recruiting will become more difficult.
Just my thoughts,
bugs

It's sad to see my old Lycoming squad slipping.

#9 and #14 on the Dynasty list tangled in a preseason game today - Connecticut vs W Conn St. .
Both teams are ranked in the preseason poll.
WCTSt jumped out early and stayed on top. This could be a preview for a game to be played in the NT, as both teams are heading in that direction.

#8 Chicago travels to #16 (and underranked) W Conn St tonight. Time to see what my boys are made of. While I think my squad can be pretty solid by season's end when my SF matures into having a solid IQ to go along w/ the rest of the team, winning this game will be tough. I say W Conn St jumps out to an early lead, and we never recover, falling by double digits.
Here's to being wrong :)

I would love nothing more than to jump out early and stay ahead. I do think my boys are underranked, but at the same time, I do not think my guys have ever gotten the respect they deserve (due to all of those early exits in the NT). Of course, Chicago and WCTSt have split the last 8 decisions. I think it will be much closer with someone winning in OT. I hope my guys can pull it out. GL taz.
