When gameplanning for this afternoon's matchup against the Sim AI-led DIII Hendrix (http://test.whatifsports.net/WhatIfSports/hd/TeamProfile/Ratings.aspx?tid=17607), I noticed they have three normal scholarship players (two PGs and one SF) that have played 0 minutes after 12 games this season. Looking through their previous games' play-by-plays, it just looks like those three guys must not even be in the Sim AI's depth chart. It looks very similar to what happens a lot in the first exhibition games to human-coached teams who didn't get a chance to set their depth charts after recruiting finished -- Anyone who was already in depth chart plays... Anyone not in the depth chart (for Hendrix, it's these three players; for humans, it's the new recruits) doesn't play at all.
Granted, the three players aren't stars and the Sim AI is justified in not starting them, but, looking at their play-by-plays, there have been game situations where players were very fatigued and these three players could have come in to relieve them. There were games where starters and/or second-stringers were in foul trouble, and even games where a couple players fouled out, but those three players never entered the game.
EDIT: They happen to have six guys on the roster listed as "PG" (plus one SG, two SF, two PF, and one C)... Not sure if that's affecting how the Sim AI is setting the depth chart, but I thought it might be worth mentioning.
EDIT #2: I just checked this afternoon's game result, and the SF finally made his first appearance of the season! He played 41 seconds right near the end of the game after four teammates had fouled out.
