Could filters be added to the recruit page which allow a coach to search for values on ratings, like the current system? For example, search my recruits for all players with BH and P over 50.

When listing the teams on a player's considering tab is it possible to make it a blind process so that we can see how our own efforts rank in comparison to others but so that we can't see those of others being considered?

i think it would reduce sniping.

With respect to lower division schools successfully landing higher division recruits. What if, after the first few recruiting cycles a guy who thinks he should be playing at A higher level but isn't getting any love starts contacting schools at his projected level with whom his preferences match up well with - He either becomes discovered, or he automatically gets scouted up one level and sends out an email. "Coach, it has always been my dream to play at your school ..." Since it seems like one of the issues with the lower level signings is that some guys simply haven't been discovered you would think they would start reaching out to schools they might want to play for before they'd just sign ASAP with a lower level school.

Towards the end of the regular season, if I haven't scheduled all of my non-conference games for next season I'd like to get a reminder email message from my Assistant telling me to do this. In the past, sometimes I have forgotten to fill up all my slots.

Last recruiting day bump! Allow the offer of scholarships the last three cycles of recruiting no matter how much interest has been developed!

I just lost my top and second recruiting choices overnight! Back to scouting this morning before five am, and now the waiting game to even see if I can generate interest enough to offer! That logic makes no sense! It is the last day of the cycle to recruit, and I have slots to fill....I will offer anyone at this stage!

Unrelated to Beta recruiting focus but will be ever see an updated realignment of conferences? It seems with a number of teams shifting conferences and divisions some conferences are pretty outdated at this point. Take the Big West - 5 of the 6 teams in the eastern conference are no longer/have never been part of that conference and one of the teams that is now in the conference, UC Davis, is still in D2 in the game despite being in D1 in RL for almost 8 years now.

Pie in the sky thought is that it would be great if teams, based on success or failure could shift divisions and conferences. Hard to execute here no doubt but this is something that some the EA college games have done previously, I believe it was one of the College Football Games. Wondering if existing teams voted to boot/accept teams who opt to put a bid in to move conferences. This could tighten certain conferences further while also strengthening conferences which have a perennially awful team attached to them.

I've been compiling a list of some smaller changes to the game I'd like to see (I know some of these have been mentioned before). I'll be continuing to update as I think of more things but here it is for now:

1. Drag and Drop ability on Targets Page

2. Exclude walk-on ratings from team total rating and average ratings (I hate that these are included in the current game)

3. Be able to compare recruits from your target list (this is an obvious need)

4. Be able to change AP’s easier, similar to practice plan (again, obvious need)

5. Reminder email to schedule non-conference games if you haven’t filled all spots. I sometimes forget, it would be nice if you got something from your assistant with a couple games left in the regular season.

6. On the recruiting page under roster I wish it would only show the players on your team that are projected to return for next season (I don't care about guys who will be gone; allows me to easily see what type of team I am returning and what kind of recruits I need to target)

7. If you offer an ineligible player start/minutes it should carryover to their first eligible season. This should also weigh in their decision to come to your school rather than go JUCO (I never understood why in the current game you can offer this and it doesn't matter when the recruit is finally eligible)

I would also like a drop down feature by Targets like there is for Scouting under the recruiting tab. The Targets page I want to see first is the one that shows me the ones I have points on now. The regular targets page is not much different than the recruits page. Or, could it default to the page that

Seble - is doing away with EEs something you would consider? That would solve the whole problem with the two recruiting periods. And based upon what I am reading on the forums, the idea may have a lot of support.

I'd love to see a poll, or comments about who is in favor of dropping or keeping them. I don't see any really good arguments about keeping them other than it is realistic, which is usually something I am for. However in this case, I think the enjoyment of the game is hurt by players who lose the EEs, and by coaches who miss out on getting the top recruits because the powerhouse schools have so many scholarships due to EEs.

It would also level the playing field a bit more in recruiting. Here's why:
If I have 2 EEs a year, then over a 4 year cycle, I am replacing 20 players instead of 12. If I replace less players, then there are more top tier players to go around.

It also makes it a lot easier to plan your team. EEs is one of the most frustrating things for me as a coach. In Tark, Season 90, I won the NT at Kentucky. Looking back I believe I won with a roster of 9-10 players. At the end of the year, I had 6 EES, and I believe that left me with 3 players coming back. That's why I left to move to Oklahoma because it was almost like starting from scratch.

I still like the draft because it's just kind of cool, and I don't see anything wrong with draft picks bumping up prestige.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on EEs in general?

Suggestion

When a coach change jobs. They should have an option to see if recruit want to follow coach to new school (during recruiting period 2), if player was being recruited or signed by coach during recruiting period 1.

How can a new york school with a C- prestige, come into Arizona (A-) and grab a local player away? I had AP at 50, i met 80% of his preferences, I recruited him heavily from the start, yet a school 1500+ miles away. That is so unrealistic. If this is the normal, then what is the use of success? The schools record is 12-15, didnt make the tourney, his rpi is in the 200, while I won my conference last season and have an rpi of 30, this season. THis is ridiculous. If this is the type of game this is going to become, alot of older coaches are going to leave. No way a C- team with no tourney history should be able to compete with AN A- school. Especially when the player is less then 100 miles from campus.

Maybe seble can shed light. I'm sure there is an explanation.....

You had 3 openings, he had 6 and from the looks of it, he went all in. You recruited normally trying to fill in your available openings while I think he is just pushing the boundaries and doesn't really care about how his team performs. I wouldn't be surprised if he takes on 5 walk ons.

I looked at the player ... assuming the NY school is St Bonnie. If so it looks like this is one of those situations where volume just overwhelmed prestige. St Bonnie had six openings, this is the only guy they signed. My bet is he poured everything into this guy. On the other hand AZ only had three openings and it looks like he had signed one guy so AZ was probably only fighting this battle with resources for two openings.

This to me is still a problem. I don't have as much of an issue with a C- six opening team going all out and getting a player from an A school, but I think if they do it should come with consequences (i.e., it should have an extreme impact on their ability to compete for anyone else). And maybe it does. I'd be interested to see the breakdown on this battle if seble would share it.

... or what buddha said above much more concisely.

If the team is St Bonnie, I think it is a combination of St Bonnie going all in and preferences. He has four listed preferences:

Wants To Play Undetermined
Paint Offense 3pt Attempted Arizona 696 vs St Bonnie 446 Advantage St. Bonaventure
Motion Advantage St Bonaventure
Zone Neither

His preferences match up better with St Bonnie, plus it looks like St Bonnie went all in.
