If we both win the next game, I'll be matched with Chicago in the sweet 16, and then Chicago might get Eastern Oregon. There I fixed it for ya Seriously, I haven't looked around, but it seems like there was a ton of the 550ish, 560ish rated teams in our bracket. Perhpas a slight step down in overall talent, but certainly enough talent to make the final 4 or win the whole thing. The longer I'm in D3 wooden, the more I'm convinced that there are no easy brackets. Lots and lots of great D3 squads here.

agree with this-- if you have a good season you might have a 1st-round game you think should be an easy win. But never more than that. too many good, even teams with long-term, good coaches.

The team Macalester(the other dynasty team in my conference) played last night was a 595 overall rated team...and they were a 12 or 13 seed...

Oh, and even though I have a HORRIBLE postseason record, and you always do well Taz...I'm not gonna roll over.

What was Macalster's seed? I Imagine it was pretty good, as I know their rpi was high all season. I think I've twice landed a 2 seed in the NT and then been matched up w/ something similar to what Macalster saw last night. A team that I knew I needed a good night w/ the RNG to knock off. That always sucks when you get a crappy draw like that.

I'm hoping for that matchup. Not only would it mean that we advanced another round into the sweet 16, but its been a while since we've played each other. St Olaf's used to be a staple of my OOC if I recall correctly. It would have the making of a good game, but I guess there's a little business for both of us to take care of prior to that. G/l Breum, hope to be game planning vs ya this time tomorrow.

I'll try not to roll over too much...I have a 4th straight trip to the sweet 16 on the line. But you have a tough squad to match up with taz.

Good luck wronoj.

good luck eanerlihp, you've got a tough squad as well. Should be a good one, just hopin' the maroons come out on top. Somebody's streak of sweet 16s is about to go up in flames.
8/26/2008 7:07 PM
well eanerlihp spit us up and chewed us out. Shot like 55% to our 38%, perhaps I shouldn't have gone w/ uptempo? Anyways one sweet 16 run ends, another continues, good luck eanerlihp.

apparently i needed a lot more than luck. didn't expect to win, but sure didn't expect to get doubled up, either.

Nice game taz, I'm suprised we shot that well. So far, our deficit in ATH and SPD hasn't caught up with us.My evidence is a little anecdotal, but I generally haven't seen good results with uptempo against a zone.
8/27/2008 5:10 AM
I may have to look at that. I went upspeed b/c of my advantage in ath & spd. It burned me in the CT when I had a miserable performance with it. Perhaps I should have just run normal.I used to always run slowdown vs a zone, figuring that if I gave it enough time, we'd find an opening in the zone. Perhaps its time to shift back to taht strategy.g/l the rest of the way.
