i am completely new to GD. can anyone tell me the approximate timing of how the whole player signing thing works? send a few letters, make a trip, make some phone calls, get some emails from the players. is there a daily WIS cycle upon which the player decisions all take place? thanks in advance!

every three hours. EST 8:30 am, 11:30, 2:30 etc... The 2:30 cycle normally runs a little late because the servers are busy, but it is normally done by 3.

This is my first try at this and I managed to find the worst team in DIII. I have only 1 DL, LBs, and thi list continues. I have read alot of the messages for newbies but am still looking for some last minute advice as I feel it unlikely that I will be able to fill all 19 scholies. ANYTHING would be helpful. Thanks,
JJ

I have 17 schollies to fill and not a clue, this is my first shot at this on the football side of the house. Most of my expieriance is in the HBD arena. In HBD there's help windows that explain the different aspects of the game such as free agency, what the abbreviations mean etc. Is there something like that in Grid Dynasty?? If so, where is it located? Anyone with a users manual on this whole thing...HELP! Thanks in advance :)

ahodge, sorry read your post probably too late...but there's some great information in the main GD forum...it's called GD Comp*** 101...i would suggest you read the posts there thoroughly and read anything you can on recruiting...outside of that, the only thing i can tell you is to 1) avoid battles (especially in your first few seasons), 2) and avoid needing AC recruits (AC signs players when you run out of money)
don't expect to work miracles overnight, read as much as you can and learn from your mistakes...if you have specific questions, pls sitemail me...have fun!

Question about exhibitions - I am at D-III, been in playoffs 2 of last 4 years. Got asked by a D-II school to play an exhibition. Wondering what the pro's and con's are of doing this? Are my players going to get hurt easier? Will they improve more? Why would a D-II want to play a D-III school anyway?
Thoughts are appreciated

jj, no cons, really, except that you'll likely get beat. Otherwise, from what I've seen, no more or less risk of injury, or change in improvement. As for why, sometimes, if you can't get a game, and it's getting late, you might drop down a level. Or, you might just want to see your team have a good game, so they are confident for the start of the season

I'm making halftime adjustments but seem to be killed in 2nd half with Frostburg State team.
Any suggestions?

cybed, two issues I can see after a quick look:
1) lack of depth. 4 LBs and 6DBs leave you open to teams wearing you down in the 2nd half.
2) defensive sets. You are running the nickel against the I for sure, and getting pummled on the ground that way. To make matters worse, you are wearing out your DB's that much faster, so when your opponent DOES p***, he's doing it vs. tired DB's.
Feel free to sitemail me with further questions.
