Hi, guys. I'm very new to GD, and I have a question regarding the Conservative, Aggressive, etc approaches to game planning. Where do you find this setting? Also, where can you add a custom game plan? When I click on Game Plan, all I can change is the Default Plan for Winning, Losing, etc.
Can anyone help shed some light on this?

Office ... Game Plan ... in the white box at the upper click on New Custom Plan, then ckick the New box that appears. Remember to save everything, and remember later to install it.

I have a question. How exactly do I scout an opposing team to find out their tendencies, etc?
It's right before the first game of the season so I thought that maybe since games haven't been played yet for the season might mean they have nothing to scout, but perhaps I am wrong and someone can point me in the right direction. Please?

Click on the team name. Review the ratings of that team's players. This will reveal the team's strenghts and weaknesses. You can click on the schedule tab and if he played exhibition games, you can see what his tendencies were in the ex games. However, there are coaches that do not use any of the gameplans they plan on using in ex games or use ex games to experiment with to see how they work.

Move the cursor over Office on your team page. Click Game Plan on the drop-down menu. The Available Game Plans box at the upper has some Default Game Plans to get you started. They're okay, or you can click on New Custom Plan and make up your own plans. You can click on any of the Default Game Plans and click on the View button that appears and see what they provide. You can modify one of those to suit your needs by clicking on New Custom Plan and loading the existing Default Game Plan that you want to modify. You have to do it down by down, first for the offense and then the defense. Save it under a new name -- it will then be in your custom game plans to use whenever you want. You can also click on any of your custom plans and then click the Edit button that appears to make changes to that Plan.

is there a schedule of events that list what dates we should be doing certain things like scouting, recruiting and setting depth charts?

You are in Wilkinson. Recruiting starts noon EDT on 10/11/07. You can set your depth chart for any exhibition games you schedule. Signings start on 10/13 and continue through 10/18. You will have to re-set your depth chart between 10/19 when freshman come in and the start of the regular season.
You can scout your recruits now. Scout your opponents regularly.
Good luck and have fun

i'm in bryant div. II Lenoir-RhyneBears. I do not have trips chosen for any offensive game situation plays...yet ... in the games i'm getting trips appear it seems more so than anything else. I have a basic I . Also do not understand the advanced percentages and distribution. I've added a 2nd qb to this last game and he had one play... kneeling at end of game as clock ran out. Had first and goal with 43 seconds and i guess my two QB's had money on the game because first , my starter, then the backup took a knee rather than cover the points inside the ten.
ANY HELP would be so appreciated.

Your post essentially duplicates the one in which you started the "Topic: offensive sets and depth question" thread. Once is enough.

Do you have to get on the candiates Consider List in order to recruit him? If you pick the K on the bottom of the list that nobody else is looking at and just offer him a scholarship without calling him or anything, is there a chance he'll sign with you?
Is it important to always visit BEFORE offering a scholarship? Does offering a scholarship early give you any benefit?

This game is pretty weak. I dont know what I thought It would be, but I thought it would be some kind of fun. I am a college coordinator and played big time college football and was looking for something to kill that hour or two a day I have. This really killed it alright. This is just more work for me, I wanted something fun. Im sorry if this is what you guys like - there is really no point to this when I cant call any kind of plays or anything remotely like football!! I guess Im just a whiner who wanted to vent.

Well, I have certainly not done well on my first try. I have spent all but about $900 of my $36,000, and I have only one guy considering me (among others).
Is there any chance of siging a guy by just offering a scholarship with no other recruiting? Since I have absolutely nothing to show for my efforts, am I better off just picking the last 9 guys on the bottom of the lists and offer them a scholarship and hope one or two take the offer. Or should I just pick one guy who nobody else is interested in and throw $900 at him and pray?
