Apologies again for the delays. No good excuse, just didn't get around to it til now.
some highlights:
Added a 44th qualified team, a new high.
Fresh off talking trash in this forum last month, camrun's Anderson jumps from second into a m***ively dominant first place. we hear ya.
US Merchant Marines made a big move, as did La Roche and Gustavus Adolphus. Also interesting was Juniata, who dropped out last season under the 4-in-5 postseason rule, and then came back with a vengeance into the top 15. Nice recovery.

I am with you here, palmetto-- except I have 6 seniors... better get it done this season, huh?

Agreed. Since I found this list, it is fun to watch. We moved up 1 slot this season. Should move up a few more next season before we take a dive.
Thanks for doing this.

Ummm...Brandeis was in last season. I think based on your post Otterbein is the 7th new team.BTW, great post and thanks for the work.

W. CT St is off to a pretty good start. The question will be can we sustain it through the season.
If I can keep my guys out of grade trouble, we can have a pretty good season.
We have a big game coming up in a few days against Martin Luther. It would be nice if both teams are still undefeated and in the top 10.

bugs,
I would say 9-1 and losing to a top-10 team is a pretty good start. Looks like you have a team to be reckoned with come tourney time... GL.

As a coach that has lost to a bunch of very talented schools in both the preseason and the OOC, W CT St, Hartwick & Baruach all look rather though this year.
Chicago is sick of getting their arse handed to them, hopefully we can take it out on my conference mates and sneak back into the NT. If I can't make the NT, then its probably safe to ***ume that I won't reach my stated goal of getting Chicago into the top 3 programs by the end of next season (if that was even possible anyways)
8/14/2007 7:13 AM
I think you should have a decent shot to get into the NT-- your noncon opponents are almost all going to win 10-14 games and their divisions... and your conference is tough, RPI-wise, too.
as for getting to the top 3, that will depend on both your success in the postseason and having some down seasons (or at best average) from the teams in front of you. You need final 4-type runs.
8/14/2007 7:38 AM
yeah, I thought next season was as strong of a lock for a final 4 run as one could garuntee (I think I've got a good shot at winning it all, we shall see, easier said than done.) However, I thought this season I had a good chance at a deep run as well, but I've lost to every strong team I've played in the OOC portion.

i thought the same about hartwick this year, but am pretty discouraged by my results against the top teams, too. oh well. Hopefully the RNG will be kinder to me in the postseason than it was last night.

It is interesting to take a look at the new "prestige" ratings and the D3 Dynasty List. Looks like wronoj did a pretty good job.

thanks. looks to me like "prestige" is quicker to rise than you would be able to do here (Keuka, in my conference, is at A- after one great season last year, not yet qualified for my list)... otherwise, most of the teams at the top of my list are near the top in prestige, too. I am trying to figure out whether or not I will include prestige in future listings here (not as a factor in dynasty status, but simply for comparison's sake). Likely will depend on whether or not I can come up with a simple way to attach it to the teams in Excel.

My Defiance squad has finally drawn a little ink in this ranking. It would be an honor to be a part of this list. Hopefully I can make my case a little stronger with a win against that dreaded Anderson foe of mine. This will be the third time we have matched up in the HCAC finals in the past five seasons.
