Has anyone recruited the palyers your ***t. coach scouts during the season? If so how do these palyers normally turn out from your expirence?

The players your AC looks at ahead of time have high overall ratings, but they may not necessarily have good core stats for their position.

Are they easier to sign?

The mid-season scout trip is worth one AC scout trip during recruiting. So, easier, yes ... but not much.

1. I keep hearing of recruit vision. Can anyone explain this to me? I must need a stronger prescriptionas i have no recruit vision that i know of. 2. This may be along the same lines...but how are you able to tell how much a recruit will improve? 3. How much credance do you put into the core stats for recriuts? I have been recruiting the highest rated recruit that I can get. Without paying attention to their "core stats"

1. I am new at this, but the way I understand it your vision primarily is your level DIII etc...and inside of the level things like your success, your schools prestige, etc effect what you can see...you can't recruit what you can't see. People will say their vision sucks when the recruits aren't very good, or numbers you can see of a certain position.
2. When you do AC scouting trips he will tell you. If he says he's about reached his potential, that recruit isn't like to progress well. But if he says with your coaching this recruit could improve a lot...that's good.
3. Core stats are everything...because those core stats are the primary factors that govern how well a player is at a given position. All the overall is, is all the atributes added up...so take an OL his core stats suck but he's got an elusive rating that is off the charts...so his overall ends up high but who needs an OL thats elusive? I want him to get in the way not out of the way! So that OL wont be good at the position even though his overall is high. SOmething else you can do with those is change their position to one that is more inline with what stats are high for them.
Im new but I think I understand at least these Qs pretty well, so I hope it helps.

You might be new, but you did a damn good job at explaining, btbiermann! Couldn't have said it better myself.

Here is a link to a manual that I created for GD. It combines a lot of the information from here in the Comp*** with stuff from the FAQ's, developer chats, and other posts in the forums. If you have any corrections, let me know.

Secret Agent has also agreed to host a Word Document version on his website. Here is that address where you can download and print it:

Wow great work. I just glanced at it and am very impressed any new player should consider those links gold.

Dumb computer question...
I keep having an error when trying to open up players profiles to recruit them. What do I have to change in my computer settings (sorry I'm not that great with computers).

What is the error?

what does effective settings mean and what setting is best? does 60% mean you are in the game 60% of the time etc

No, it means your player will stay in the game until he is at 60%. Basically it's a fatigue thing and the higher the stamina the higher the effectivness you can set the player to. The player also will not return until he is resting back to above the effective setting you place on him. So a guy with a 55 stamina rating set at 80% will play a very good portion of the game. When his effectiveness goes under 80% he will sit out and rest while a sub comes in for him. Low stamina like 35 and under won't play much so you set his effectiveness lower, such as 60% to get more out of him before he is too worn out to continue. Most likely a player like that wouldn't come back in for the rest of the game.
