I've been compiling a list of some smaller changes to the game I'd like to see (I know some of these have been mentioned before). I'll be continuing to update as I think of more things but here it is for now:
1. Drag and Drop ability on Targets Page
2. Exclude walk-on ratings from team total rating and average ratings (I hate that these are included in the current game)
3. Be able to compare recruits from your target list (this is an obvious need)
4. Be able to change AP’s easier, similar to practice plan (again, obvious need)
5. Reminder email to schedule non-conference games if you haven’t filled all spots. I sometimes forget, it would be nice if you got something from your assistant with a couple games left in the regular season.
6. On the recruiting page under roster I wish it would only show the players on your team that are projected to return for next season (I don't care about guys who will be gone; allows me to easily see what type of team I am returning and what kind of recruits I need to target)
7. If you offer an ineligible player start/minutes it should carryover to their first eligible season. This should also weigh in their decision to come to your school rather than go JUCO (I never understood why in the current game you can offer this and it doesn't matter when the recruit is finally eligible)
+1 on all except #7
I think if coach Calipari told a recruit you can come and start at Kentucky next year if you can get your grades up, and then he doesn't, coach Cal shouldn't have to start him over the incumbant the next season (i mean, he had to replace him and start SOMEBODY). I think that conversation should/could hold some weight with the kid, but he didn't hold up his end either by not get his SAT scores up thus the coach and team having consequences). That said, I see great value in 1-6 and would vote for all of them in a survey. #2 although understandable wouldn't be a deal breaker though.
As far as other changes,
There are some cool concepts added (props seble) which people have shown to like, but there may be too many. I guess the cool thing to remember is that this is still the beta and its here for us to mek changes/suggestions etc.
First simplifying recruiting would be really helpful to vets, casual players, and new players alike.
1) I'm not sure who level one is useful for, and with the durability factored in it becomes less "useful". Again it takes time to look at a bunch of level ones and a bunch of level twos then a bunch of level 3s then a bunch of level 4s before deciding whos worth the battles that you've likely gotten yourself in during the process (regardless of level). Not a lack of dedication or effort, or even an account of my level of skill when the assistant search is so random and it may take a while to even uncover (to level two) a player that fits my style of play. Again I think the concept was cool, but too many levels to get to "ok this is one of the 2-5 (or whatever) I'm going to target with my limited AP, or worse the preferences fit but the skills dont and vice versa...Oh well, back to assistant search". Fixes: less levels, more standardized info in levels(for newbies, and "casual"/limited availability users like: military, family guys, odd shift workers, people OUTCONUS, but love the opportunity to play the game to feel like we can be competitive), and more specifics for your assistant(s) to be able to search for. (IRL if not assistant came back with info on 25 possible recruits and only had level 1 info he'd be fired...granted level 4 info would get him a raise...lol)
2)The letter grades could be changed to just number ranges or more directly related to number ranges. This was said before in a post, but it made enough sense to repeat. If A was a standardized 100 to 85, then B could be from 84 to 70 , C could be 69-55, D 54-40, E 39-25 and F 25 < (or something like that).... With the + or - grade in level 3 being more directly linked to the high 5 or low 5 of that range. This could be simplified even more for the newby or casual player by just starting with # ranges and then colors, (the letters aren't awful, but for someone who plays +80pct from my phone simplifying the scouting/recruiting process would make the game way more relatable and enjoyable). Using a seperate chart/formula for possible ranges and heaven forbid different ranges/weights per different positions would be a nightmare.
