Essentially, a PI championship counts the same as a NT 1st-round loss. The key to the whole thing is playing postseason every year.

Nice, held onto #8 despite the first round exit.

Well I think you can consider Chicago officially off that list next year. The Upstate should be strong next year, but Chicago has to replace a lot. A postseason bid is probably too much to ask for (not to mention that I scheduled over that team's head for next year)

Lycoming didn't slip as bad as I thought it was going to. Hopefully we can make a NT again.

They are in my spreadsheet, but if I start taking exceptions it will all get too complicated too fast. He was on the edge until missing in season 19... maybe I will figure out a way to do it differently, where you can be listed without making it 4 of 5, but there is a penalty for seasons out. Depends on how bored I am this season.

really hoping that Lycoming's strong year boosts us up in the rankings...

Clearly I have no clue when it comes to evaluating my own team. Chicago's sweet 16 was definently a pleasant surprise coming off the championship last season. Hopefully we can carry it thru to next year.

Yeah, glad I could help you out with the early-season beatdown... Happy to have made the PIT just to keep the postseason string alive. Update soon with the new rankings.

Some of you need to join my quest in trying to dethrone Camrun in the Heartland Conference VBG

Updated through Season 21.

Congrats to Becker on a big jump up to #1-- Old Westbury's lack of postseason play this season cost him his top 3 spot... nobody else made any crazy jumps or falls, but this was definitely the biggest shakeup at the top since I began doing this.

wronoj,
How exactly do you come up w/ this list. W/ a point system, I ***ume you give points for certain accomplishments. Care to share what those are, how long of a time frame you look at, do national championships/final 4s last longer than a first round exit, etc.... Kind of courious how you put it all together.
Thanks for giving us something more important than the WIS poll.

I got alblack's point system from him and modified it slightly-- basic criteria are:

consistency-- cannot qualify if you have not been in the postseason (NT or PIT) 4 of the last 5 seasons.

how far you go in the postseason-- obviously, deeper runs get you more points. essentially, a PIT championship is worth a first round NT exit.

system takes into account the last 10 seasons, but older accomplishments count less.

If anyone wants the whole formula, send me a sitemail and I will be happy to share. Or, if you all want me to post it here, I will be happy to do so and take suggestions (though changing it much is tough, since I have tons of data already entered).

so when will the season actually start?
4/18/2007 4:30 PM
recruiting starts Sunday, I think. You should have access to a new team Sat.
