If a player is up for arbitration and you dont want to keep them, what are your options?
If you outright release them and they are a "Type A" player, would you receive compensation for them?

no, coco. i'd heard different answers to that, but tom said yesterday that there's no compensation.

I see you guys are getting your info about the amateur draft right now. Would anyone release a screenshot, where it shows what we can see. I can't wait the 20-30 days for my league to get into that. Im just curious as to what info is available for players and is there any superstars right out of college or if you can even see that yet.

Thanks for the advice on the catchers, Mikeblid and Nick. Both are definitely the best defensively in my organization. I'm going to keep both, check the free agents for alternatives, give them both a shot in spring training, and then maybe waive one of them. Who knows, since their strengths are durability (73/90), health (88/91), and handling pitchers (87/96), they could be trade bait as soon as the injury bug begins to bite around the league.
Coco - If you're absolutely sure you have no use for an arbitration-eligible player, you can release him before arb with no adverse budgetary consequences.
Based on the above advice regarding my catchers, however, I've decided to keep a few arb players whom I was going to let go. Example: 3 fringe pitchers asking 700-800k. By the end of Spring, I'll probably try to get two of them to AAA (injury insurance) via waivers, but the worst that can happen is that somebody else takes them (and their salaries) off my hands.

Can anyone tell me about "Range Factor" ? Do we want high or low numbers there, and what does it represent?
Never mind, I looked it up elsewhere

I have a starter witha 3 durability 79 stamina, will this guy be able to recover to pitch every 5 days? He's been solid in spring training so far after his last outing 3innings 40 -45 pittches he was at 20% for a day but then back to 100% the next day. Any advice would be appreciated.

i haven't seen anyone with a durability that low. i had one guy with a 7, but he blew out his elbow :).

Thanks Mike!

My lowest durability MLB starter is 15 with 79 stamina. Sometimes he makes it, sometimes he doesn't. I have a 13 in the minors. He's in a 6 man rotation.

Makeup tells how a player deals with adversity....injuries, bad calls on the field,, etc....and how well they respond to those.

Make-up ratings = the ability to apply eyeliner like Piazza

I have a guy with 1 dur/84 stamina... was fine until his last start when he threw 71 pitches, dropped to mid twenties and is only back to 33% three cycles later.
