Hello Hockey Faithful!

Over the years, we have received a lot of feedback and suggestions about a hockey dynasty game, so we felt now would be a good time to officially address this topic.

First, you guys are some of the most loyal and enthusiastic customers we have! You have continued to make SimLeague Hockey one of our most successful SimLeague products and make my job of working on this project very enjoyable! I appreciate all of the great feedback you guys gave to help make the recent SLH 3.2 such a successful release!

As you know, we are always busy improving all of our products and are currently working on several improvements -- the biggest being a FREE soccer dynasty game that is set to open to the public very, very soon! A hockey dynasty game is a product we are very interested in doing and we have a great relationship with the NHL and great customers that we know will support it!

As with all of our products -- our #1 goal is to develop an enjoyable and realistic game, so you can understand that it takes quite a bit of time to design and develop the type of game a hockey dynasty will be. When we get closer to a start date for this process, we will definitely be asking all SimLeague Hockey users for their input, ideas and feedback. Until then, we hope everyone continues to enjoy SimLeague Hockey. Feedback is always welcome, so please keep the suggestions coming. Even if we can't respond to everyone personally, we read everything!

Soccer gets a dynasty before hockey?Wow we are low on the totem pole.. but, thanks for the update.. look forward to the dream becoming a reality

thanks mike for giving everyone an official response. now we at least have a thread to direct people to when they ask about it. and i understand soccer needing something on the site. will it always remain free, or will it eventually revert to pay per team?

god_mike -- you're welcome! We wanted to get an official post out here so people knew where we were in the process. As for soccer -- for the foreseeable future, it is going to be completely free with ad-based revenue. It's a new model we are trying out. I guess if it goes horribly wrong, there could be changes, but none in the works as of now -- the goal is to keep it free!

Thanks for the update Mike! We can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Many of us have been anxiously awaiting it for quite awhile now. Should I just forward you my paycheck now to make it easier on me?

Nice to see Mike. It would be nice to spend my WIS dollars mostly on hockey again. I am disappointed to learn it is going to be NHL based though. I still think the CHL (canadian junior hockey) with fantasy based short career players like HD and GD is the way to go and an NHL based game will only get a team or two from me, leaving the bulk of my spending in HD. I would see this as a gl*** half empty announcement.

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! if it's college based like HD or GD, i won't even bother trying it. i want an NHL based game like HBD which is ten times better than the other dynasty games. i want to be able to sign contracts, have a draft, promote / demote players. actually run a team that can become a dynasty, with franchise players and everything.

HD and GD are great, but not what i want to see in hockey.

I agree with g_m....I'd much rather see something with NHL/AHL/ECHL/one lower league (UHL or CHL). HBD is MUCH more enjoyable to me than GD or HD are.

CHL would be pretty cool though!!!

Do we have any type of rough time-frame for the release of Soccer? Or the beginning of development of the Hockey game? Thanks for the information!

Play making(P***ing)
Power play ability(point and forward)
Penalty killing
Shot blocking
Checking(backchecking,retreating(ability to play defense)
Hitting
Aggression(toughness, a good thing)
Fighting(tendency)
Discipline(minor penalties per ice time)Temper
Health
Durability
Make up (likelyhood of improving in the minors and accepting certain roles) If you use any of those, send me a cheque (unless I stole them from HBD)
